Black Home Initiative is a new regional effort to address these systemic injustices. Our goal: Generate 1,500 new Black homeowners in the next five years in South Seattle, South King County and North Pierce County.
The Black Home Initiative (BHI) Network Manager plays a critical role in supporting the success of BHI by ensuring seamless collaboration, communication, and engagement across its extensive network of partners. Reporting to the Civic Commons/BHI Network Weaver, this full-time role at Civic Commons serves as the operational backbone of BHI. The Network Manager will facilitate connections, coordinate projects, and manage essential operational tasks that drive the initiative forward. This role requires a dynamic, proactive leader who excels in relationship-building, project management, and knowledge sharing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Network Engagement & Coordination
- Act as the primary liaison for BHI’s 120+ public, private, and nonprofit partners, fostering engagement and collaboration.
- Ensure partners have access to critical resources, including collaborative workspaces, the BHI Partner Portal, and digital mapping tools.
- Maintain regular intra-network communications, sharing key updates, insights, and best practices.
- Document and disseminate promising practices in alignment with BHI protocols.
- Manage BHI’s inventory of print and promotional resources at the Seattle Foundation office to support partner needs.
Project & Partner Management
- Oversee evaluation tools, tracking progress and engagement of network partners.
- Provide direction and guidance to BHI project teams by:
- Convening and coaching team co-chairs.
- Offering project management tools and training.
- Organizing and facilitating meetings, preparing agendas, and ensuring follow-ups.
- Supporting and development and maintenance project teamwork plans and rosters.
- Lead onboarding efforts for new BHI partners, ensuring seamless integration and quality data management.
- Support and refine workflow design, helping to manage and modify processes as needed.
- Establish structures and systems that streamline operations while remaining flexible for future innovation.
Communications & Knowledge Management
- Oversee the distribution of BHI marketing and outreach materials, ensuring accessibility and relevance.
- Coordinate timely updates to the BHI public website and Partner Portal in collaboration with key staff.
- Implement and manage BHI’s new CRM system, ensuring accurate data tracking, reporting, and partner engagement.
- Maintain and enhance BHI’s knowledge management system using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Ensure strong tracking and management tools are in place to monitor partner engagement and initiative progress.
Event & Meeting Support
- Work closely with the BHI Network Weaver and Civic Commons Operations Manager to coordinate scheduling and venue logistics for meetings and events.
- Distribute agendas, meeting materials, and post-event summaries for BHI leadership groups.
- Monitor upcoming partner events and ensure promotional materials are available and distributed effectively.
- Support calendaring and team knowledge management processes.
Growth & Initiative Development
- Collaborate with BHI Network Weaver to ensure that this role adapts in a way that supports the evolution of BHI.
- Engage in continuous learning and contribute to the strategic advancement of BHI.
- Partner with Civic Commons team to support operational needs and integration.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Technical Competencies
- A proactive and adaptable mindset, comfortable with both high-level facilitation and detail-oriented operational tasks.
- Minimum of two years of experience leading facilitation and coordination of diverse groups within a project management framework.
- Strong commitment to impact networks as a strategy for addressing complex challenges.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel); familiarity with web design, e-newsletter platforms, and CRM systems is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, written communication, and facilitation skills with a results-oriented approach.
- Experience managing data and engagement tracking through CRM platforms preferred.
- Strong ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accuracy under deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Valid Washington state driver's license.

- The hiring range reflects Civic Commons' objective to hire at approximately the mid-range within the associated grade. Per Washington State law, Civic Commons discloses the full range of the associated grade for this position; this range is 100% of range and has not been adjusted.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Flexible; can be fully in-person, or hybrid (remote and in-person). This position is expected to be in the office 1-2 times per week as needed for collaborative meetings. Office is located in downtown Seattle. Must live in WA state. All positions require the capability of working at a PC for extended periods. Team efforts with event support may require periods of physical activity involving standing, walking, and moderate lifting.
