Psychiatric/Mental Health RN (General 1 to 2 FTE) Years of Experience in the Specialty: Minimum three years current (must have workedwithin the last six months) experience in an inpatient psychiatric unit.Specialty Skills: Expert in assessing, diagnosing, and treating psychiatric problems andutilization of de- escalation techniques. Mental health nurses work as part of a team toprovide total medical care for patients. Some common duties for include: Evaluating mentalhealth needs of patients, Facilitating and conducting contraband searches, Monitors andconducts timely evaluations of the mental health environment of care, Developingtreatment plans, providing psychotherapy services and personal care, Coordinating withfamilies, doctors, and other health professionals, and administering medications.
