Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical services we offer.JOB DUTIES:Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit.Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, reporting patient history summary.Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding, keeping patient information confidential.Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions concerning follow-up with prescriptions.Schedules follow-up by making arrangements with the front desk, verifying times with patients, preparing charts, pre-admission, and consent forms.Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, verifying receipts.Other duties as assignedMust be willing to work occasional overtimeMust be willing to work occasional weekendsMust be willing to help out occasionally in other locationsJOB REQUIREMENTSMinimum High School Diploma or GED equivalentMinimum one-year experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical clinicEMR Experience a plusRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledgeable about the health care practices, terminology, and different clinical specialtiesKnowledge of HEDIS measuresMust have the ability to satisfactorily speak, read, write and understand English for effective communicationKnowledge of Electronic Medical records (EMR) and Practice Management (PM) systems is a plus.Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with healthcare services providers, coworkers, and patientsAbility to work effectively as part of the teamStrong organizing, coordinating, and multi-tasking abilitiesStrong follow-up skillsWORK ENVIRONMENTAll work is performed within a standard health care/primary care clinical setting.''Work Location:One locationJob Type: Full-timePay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8-hour shiftExperience:Medical Assisting: 1 year (Preferred)#ZR
