Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner needed in New Jersey!

This is strictly for Outpatient. It is a mix of adults/children/substance abuse.
The Outpatient Program offers individual/group/family/couples therapy, psychiatric services, and medication monitoring to consumers with mental health concerns. The Outpatient Program serves a wide range of consumers including persons experiencing life difficulties, those who have serious mental illness, children and families referred because of abuse and neglect, adult and adolescent substance abusers, older adults, emotionally disturbed adolescents, and persons involved with the courts.
The Advanced Practice Nurse conducts medication re-evaluations for consumers who have been seen by the psychiatrist. Aids in formulating diagnostic impressions based on DSM-V criteria in collaboration with the psychiatrist and other treatment members. May practice in the role of therapist, providing individual and/or group psychotherapy, as needed. Can write prescriptions for non-controlled substances. Will be in verbal and/or electronic contact with the supervisory psychiatrist. Attends meetings as required. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the consumers served. The individual demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the consumer population served. He or she must be able to assess and interpret data about the consumer’s status in order to identify each consumer’s needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the consumer group.
Master’s Degree in psychiatric/mental health specialization or equivalent with prescriptive authority. Minimum of three years’ psychiatric nursing experience, one year post graduate preferred. Current license in New Jersey required.
