Adelphi is seeking a Laboratory Technician to provide services in a correctional facility in Goochland County, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing biological samples while maintaining the highest standards in patient care and laboratory practices.Job Quick Facts: Ref#: BD-353-77 Profession: Allied Health Specialty: Laboratory Technician Location: Goochland County, Virginia Service Setting: Correctional Facility Job Type: Contract Start Date: ASAP Shift schedule: 3 12-hour shifts or 3 8-hour shifts and 1 12-hour shift (no weekends) Rate: $25-$33 (Pay rate will be determined by the facility based on qualifications and experience)Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent Associates degree in Medical Technology or a related field preferred Phlebotomy certification (CPT) (Phlebotomy skills required) Minimum of 1 year of experience in phlebotomy and laboratory workResponsibilities: Perform phlebotomy procedures to collect blood samples, ensuring patient comfort and compliance with safety standards. Perform various lab tests, such as blood counts, sodium and potassium analysis, serum chemistries, urinalysis, and a number of other procedures. Provide laboratory support for the facility's Medical Department. Perform control-value testing on equipment, update charts and records, schedule appointments, and maintain documentation in appropriate logs and files. Collaborate with the laboratory and clinical teams to optimize workflows and support patient care. Operate standard laboratory equipment. Record and report test results. Ensure accurate data entry and maintain patient confidentiality. Complete all tasks within established timelines provided by the facility. Adhere to safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a sterile and organized work environment. Perform other duties as assigned.
