Detail-oriented and excellent record-keeping skills.Responsibilities: The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) will be responsible for safely administering prescribed medications to patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Assists with basic patient care tasks, maintains accurate records, and follows established procedures to ensure the well-being of patients. Administer medications (oral, topical, and sometimes injections) to patients as prescribed by their healthcare provider. Ensure correct dosage and timing, as outlined in the patients care plan. Maintain knowledge of medications, including side effects, potential interactions, and proper administration methods. Accurately document all administered medications in patient charts or electronic medical records (EMRs). Report any medication errors, patient refusals, or adverse reactions immediately to the supervising nurse. Record any changes in the patient's condition related to medication administration. Observe patients for side effects or reactions after administering medications. Monitor vital signs as required and report any changes or concerns to the supervising nurse. Provide patients with information about their medications, including usage, side effects, and potential drug interactions. Assist nurses and other healthcare professionals in basic patient care tasks, such as hygiene, feeding, mobility assistance, and checking vital signs.
