Job Description:
The Patient Care Assistant,under the direction of a nurse, assists in providing nursing care to adesignated group of patients.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Demonstratesawareness of and respect for patient/family/SO needs in relation toconfidentiality, privacy, security, complaint resolution and spiritual andcultural needs.
- Assurescall lights are answered and patient needs are met.
- Recognizesand immediately reports changes in patient's status and condition and reportsto Registered Nurse.
- Assists patients with selecting appropriateclothing, comb hair and assist with other personal needs to assure dignity.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Active Certified Nursing Assistance license with the State of Florida
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and certification.Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.Minimum of oneyear of Patient Care Assistant experience preferred.Working knowledge of medical terminology.Basic computer knowledgeNotice
