TheNurse Practitioner (NP) will be responsible for conducting rounds on patients,performing assessments, coordinating and evaluating the plan of care, andimplementing discharge plans at the direction and supervision of the PrimaryPhysician permitted under Texaslaw. The NP will also administer medications/treatments and assist with proceduresas ordered by the physicians. The NP will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to assure the safe and accuratedelivery of care. While the NP issubject to practice under the protocols established and approved by the medicalstaff as required by Texaslaw, in all other respects the NP will be subject to the Hospitals authority. Assumes, under the direction of theLaboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control,quality improvement, and equipment maintenance.
Hours: NIGHTS: 3 twelve hour shifts one week/4 twelve hour shifts next week; no call
- You will assist with patient assessments according to patients progress and/or unit protocolsand age-specific parameters.
- You will document findings and communicate all pertinent information to interdisciplinary teammembers as appropriate.
- You will collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in the development, evaluation, andrevision of the plan of care as appropriate to meet the patients needs andgoals.
- You will providescompetent direct care and ensure the provision of a safe and comfortingenvironment resulting in a high level of patient satisfaction.
- You will delegate appropriately to licensed and non-licensed staff in accordance with job descriptions, license requirements, and standards of practice.
- You will be supervised by the supervising physician and/or primary care physician on Hospitals Medical Staffand the Hospitals Vice President, Clinical Services, will supervise the NursePractitioner collaboratively.
