Doctors Hospital of Augusta is a 350 plus bed HCA Healthcare facility located near the Georgia-South Carolina state border. Doctors Hospital is well known for its Joseph M. We are searching for a new Oncology Nurse Navigator, to function as a key member of our multidisciplinary cancer care team and to serve as an advocate and educator for cancer patients, from diagnosis through end of active treatment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serving as patient advocate from diagnosis to end of active treatment.
- Assessing patients medical, social, psychosocial, and other care needs.
- Providing appropriate teaching, outreach, and support to patients and families.
- Ensuring the patient is empowered to manage his/her own healthcare needs
- Streamlining processes for patients by assisting with appointment scheduling and paperwork preparation.
- Coaching and assist patients to remove barriers related to insurance coverage, transportation, child care, finances, language, etc. so they can focus on their treatment plan, not these barriers
