POPULATION SERVED:Core competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient populations served: : Morbid obese adult with all co-morbid illness/conditions including but not limited to cardiac/cardiovascular, metabolic, renal, pulmonary; Medical/Surgical diagnosis including but not limited to GI, GU/GYN, orthopedic, neuro, renal metabolic, pulmonary systems and those requiring isolation precautions.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the unit Director or designee, the Clinical Coordinator assumes responsibility for the direction and coordination of all functions in the unit, in collaboration with the Director or in the absence of the Director. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the Clinical Coordinator is
responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit. The clinical coordinator also collaborates with the Director regarding budgetary and strategic planning opportunities for improvement. The Clinical Coordinator assists the Director in providing nursing leadership to the unit and overseeing the clinical operations of the unit.

REQUIRED
PREFERRED:
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
REQUIRED: (Certifications must be kept current)
- RN licensure in Texas or compact state.
- BCLS
PREFERRED:
- ACLS
- National Certification
EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
- Two years clinical experience in Medical-Surgical nursing
PREFERRED:
- One year of management experience
- Acute Care experience
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to develop a staff schedule,
Critical thinking ability,
Copes effectively with crisis and emergency situations,
Communicates clearly and concisely.
Encourages team-building efforts.
Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
