I believe that a stronger team begins with me. As a Rehabilitation Director, you will:
Direct rehab therapy and specialty operations to ensure the provision of quality service consistent with applicable government laws/regulations and corporate policies/guidelines/standards. Maintain an awareness of changes in legislation that impact business operations and liability.
Responsible for oversight of specialty core tenants including credentialing, training, competency checks, and annual integrity survey.
Provide oversight of orientation of new therapy clinicians.
Participate in creating annual budgets for specialty programs and monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgetary constraints. Review therapy metrics reporting for the branch and responds as appropriate.
Assess market potential and develop annual specialty/rehab business plans in conjunction with branch leadership and sales team. Collaborate with hospice and home health specialists providing the clinical support for sales as needed. Participate in community/professional organizations to increase company visibility and ensure the achievement of sales/profit goals.
Analyze gross profit factors, market conditions, business volume/mix, competition, and operational costs/requirements. Train operational leadership and support team on rehab and specialty metrics.
Consult with regional/divisional/corporate staff and clinical delivery/business contacts to identify solutions to client needs/problems. Implement Company sponsored programs (e.g., clinical, marketing, risk management, etc,) and recommend new specialties to division/corporate staff as appropriate.
Direct/oversee implementation of rehab processes to ensure sound clinical outcomes and excellent customer service to patients receiving therapy/specialty services.
Monitor the work of therapy clinicians to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and quality, and make provisions for their development as needed. Provide information on the status of new/changed regulations and procedures, and ensures compliance.
Work with area recruiter and Branch leadership to ensure therapy capacity to meet market needs. Varying degrees of direct patient care may be required as indicated by branch needs and as directed by Area/Regional team.
Participate in/encourage quality assessment and performance improvement activities. Generate reports for regional, divisional and corporate personnel.
Maintain ongoing clinical knowledge through internal/external training programs, provide interpretation of knowledge and direction to staff.
Ensure compliance with standards/company policies/procedures and external regulatory requirements. Ensure that caregiver clinical documentation meets these requirements. Inspect therapy documentation by completing monthly chart reviews for quarterly quality audit committee.
Perform all duties inherent in a managerial role including shared responsibility, accountability and authority for annual performance appraisals, coaching and feedback, and action plans for therapy clinicians.
Qualifications
Masters degree in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech language pathology
Five years of clinical experience
A Diploma from an accredited Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Therapy Program and current unrestricted licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Therapist in the state(s)
Good verbal and written communication skills
Leadership skills in building effective and productive teams, as well as function as a strong team member
