GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To promote and support individuals to become more independent and to maximize the potential of individuals and families through the provision of quality client-centered therapy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Services Implementation/ Management:
- Operationalize the mission, vision, and core values of Brighter, Stronger Foundation.
- Responsible for the provision of comprehensive clinical services to assigned clients, in compliance with agency, COMAR, CARF standards. This includes the provision of individual, family, group therapies, crisis intervention, advocacy, assessment, planning, discharge planning, interdisciplinary teamwork, and community liaison within the limits of privilege.
- Responsible for formulating and implementing appropriate treatment strategies for patients and their families on their assigned caseload.
- Conduct regular appointments with clients who wish to converse with a mental health professional.
- Establish positive and trusting relationships with clients through implementing various treatments and protocols to provide guidance and appropriately address client situations.
- Continually assess client situations and provide the proper ongoing treatments.
- Participate in ongoing clinical supervision from a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor
- Educate and involve family members or other loved ones in the treatment process when necessary.
- When required, collaborate with the supervisor to refer clients to outside sources or agencies that can better address their specific needs.
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality of every client situation.
- Maintain all required licenses and the appropriate insurance.
- Participate in and complete all required training.
- Ensure client safety and engagement throughout the provision of services
- Collect data on all targeted goals and meet with the supervisor to analyze the information gathered and participate in initial and ongoing training.
- Model and promote effective communication, customer service, and positive representation of the organization to clients, customers, referral sources and the public.
- Works cooperatively with other BSF professionals to support clients.
- Maintain consistent communication with parents, supervisors and coworkers on client goals and progress.
- Communicate client and programmatic needs with supervisor.
- Properly report and document all critical incidents and safety concerns regarding persons receiving service.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, and a desire to work with children, youth, and young adults.
*Mental Health Therapist II
- Responsible for completing comprehensive psychosocial assessment, including differential diagnosis, at client intake and/or re-evaluation periods
- Administrative:
- Record timely and complete documentation of services in the EMR per policy and organizational procedures.
- Record time worked, and scheduled/unscheduled time off, in the HRIS per policy and organizational procedures.
- Individual Performance Management:
- Attend departmental meetings and supervision meetings as scheduled.
- Complete annual self-evaluations in accordance with the required timeline.
- Complete all required training during the first 60 days of employment, first year, and annually.
- Maintain a reliable attendance record.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other projects/duties as assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE AND NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Two (2) years of clinical experience, ideally working directly with clients preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to actively listen.
- Solid relationship building capabilities.
- Positive and compassionate attitude
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize needs.
- Willingness to stay updated on new treatments, protocols, and licensure requirements within the field.
- Passion for advancing the therapy field.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
*Mental Health Therapist I
- Active LCSW/LCSW-C/LCPC/LCPC-S/LCADC/LCPAT/LCMFT/LMSW/LGPC/LGPAT/LGMFT licensure in the State of Maryland and maintain all necessary state licensure requirements.
*Mental Health Therapist II
- Active LCSW/LCSW-C/LCPC/LCPC-S/LCADC/LCPAT/LCMFT licensure in the State of Maryland and maintains all necessary state licensure requirements.
