Montclair Assisted Living of Clairmont Place is an assisted living situated inside of Clairmont Place independent living residential community for older adults in Decatur, Georgia, located across from the VA Hospital. We are looking for people to fill part time roles as a dining assistant in Montclair's dining room. Your primary responsibility will be customer service for our residents. Dinner shifts are from 4:00 pm until 8pm Sunday - Saturday. You must be available 3-4 shifts per week, including every other weekend.
Dining assist, do side work (table set up and break down, basic cleaning, drink station, steam table, return left over food and dishes to dietary, set up, sweep and mop dining floors, etc), assist with serving and then reset and clean their sections afterward. Provide resident oversight during 6pm shift change. Residents' complete menus for ordering their meals. You will pour water for all residents by 4:45 pm. Prepare desserts for serving. It is fine dining with professional table service.
You must be flexible, patient, have a can-do attitude, willingness to work as a team, ability to prioritize tasks and ability to remain calm and kind even under duress. You must be respectful and reliable for every shift. The right candidate does not necessarily have years of serving experience but has a friendly, professional demeanor and a willingness to learn.

All employees have to pass a drug and background check. 3+ years of experience preferred. New hires must be vaccinated against Covid-19. We have worked hard to protect our population of vulnerable older adults through the pandemic.
Safety/Sanitation: Employee commits to following outlined department safety procedures. Works smart, safely and helps maintain and create a safe environment for co-workers and residents. Reports any unsafe conditions and corrects in a timely manner. Follows all applicable food sanitation regulations dictated by Dekalb County Health Department and supervisors.
Job Duties: All dining assistants are to complete their specific assigned job duties, including side work, and are to be checked out by the CMA on Caring DR. once work is finished and must remain visible in dining room and stay busy for the duration of their shift. If the dining assistant must step away they must alert a staff to cover the dining if any resident remains in the dining eating for safety.
Duties: Dinning Assistant will arrive at 4:30 pm. Dining Assistants should always remain visible in the dining room for resident safety.
Pour ice water into large water glass for all dining settings Assist with food prep (coordinated with server) Assist with prepping variety deserts (Including ice cream options) Provide oversight of residents remaining in dining room Clear all tables Scrape dishes and load onto cart (Do not overload)
Place glasses in racks
Disinfect all tables
Turn off, break down and clean steam table
Return all food including deserts pitchers and dishware to kitchen
Change all dining cloths every Friday and wash in Montclair laundry room
Wipe off all chairs
Sweep and mop dining floors
Disinfect counters, juice and ice machine
May be reassigned to assist with care as needed
Refill table baskets- creamer, sugar, butter
Refill salt and pepper shakers
Other duties as assigned
May be reassigned to provide care
During service, after plates are served, check back after 3 minutes to ensure resident has all items needed. Refill waters/other beverages/coffee during service. Dirty plates should be removed from tables between courses and placed on carts to be taken to the kitchen. Additional side duties may be assigned at any time. These include but are not limited to: cleaning salt and pepper shakers, restocking, or deep cleaning dining room.
After all residents have completed their meal and exited the dining room, Dining Assistants should disinfect the dining area, resetting tables and cleaning the floor.
