Responsibilities

The Community Internal Medicine department at Mayo Clinic Arizona is a large outpatient department primarily based at our Scottsdale campus. We practice a team-based model of care while also providing each provider with an assigned patient panel. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient-centered care, integrating the latest medical advancements with a collaborative approach. Primary Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive evaluations and medical management of adult and geriatric patients for acute and chronic conditions
Perform new patient assessments, pre-surgical evaluations, well visits, women's health visits, Medicare wellness exams, and sports physicals.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and specialty physicians for optimal patient care.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and laboratory studies.
Provide patient education and counseling regarding disease management and preventive care.
Support Mayo Clinic's Employee Health Clinic at both Scottsdale and Phoenix campuses.
Participate in a minimal phone call schedule (triaged by RNs), with additional reimbursement for call coverage.
Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.

During the selection process you may participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience. During the OnDemand interview, a question will appear on your screen, and you will have time to consider each question before responding. You will have the opportunity to re-record your answer to each question – Mayo Clinic will only see the final recording. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current AZ RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP or ANP.

Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the AZ State Board of Medical Practice.

Additional Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of outpatient internal medicine or family practice full time work but ideally 2-4 years.
Other specialties with 2+ experience would also be considered.

Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required
