Position Summary: L&D Nurse Full-Time Nights
Under the direction of the Unit Director and the Charge Nurse cares for the medical and surgical patients within women's services unit. Performs related assessments, procedures and treatments, evaluations and updates of patient plan of care that assures and maintains high quality care for all assigned patients. Performs thorough assessments of assigned labor and delivery, pre/postpartum, newborn and surgical patients, Assessments include obtaining patient history, assessing body systems, outcomes of treatments and procedures performed and the psychosocial needs of the patient. Assesses patient family needs during death and dying. Incorporates age-specific factors in the provision of care. Performs age-specific nursing assessments, assesses age-specific safety issues (e.g., size of IV catheter for newborn, appropriate care needs of pregnant adolescent) and appropriately interprets age-specific patient data and responses.

Education:
Associate degree in nursing required. Bachelors degree preferred.
