Job Title: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant in the Center for Perioperative Optimization Clinic, CPO

Location: Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Baltimore, MD

Department: Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine

Position Summary: Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate APP as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant to join our esteemed team preparing patients for surgery in our Perioperative Optimization Clinic. The successful APP will provide advanced clinical care in a dynamic and collaborative environment, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety in perioperative and acute care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, including history taking, physical examination, and diagnostic testing.
Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.
Provide patient and family education on postoperative care, pain management, and recovery processes.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the continuous improvement of clinical practices and patient care protocols.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities in the electronic health record system.
Stay current with advancements in anesthesia and critical care through ongoing professional development and continuing education.

Qualifications:

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Maryland.
Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) preferred.
Completion of a Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in a Physician Assistant Program
Current Maryland Physician Assistant license; Board certified PA Maryland CDS (prescription) and DEA (narcotics) licensure required
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care or critical care setting, with experience in anesthesia preferred.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

Salary Range: Minimum $55.81/hour - Maximum $86.51/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
